Urge Congress to save rivers

Besides letting us all know what the weather will be the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) runs other valuable programs. Two of them are scheduled to have their budgets drastically reduced or even eliminated all together!  The Community-based Restoration Program and the Open Rivers Initiative need your help. Since 2005, these programs have removed dams and culverts, restored rivers and freed up passages for wild fish.

Urge Congress to continue funding these river restoration programs – visit this link to American Rivers to take action:  https://secure2.convio.net/amr/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=1299

  1. I agree totally. Our rivers here in Panama are also in danger!

  2. I wish you the best of luck in your attempt to get congress to protect the rivers. I have a Panama whitewater rafting company and the hydroelectric companies are destroying our rivers, so much that there will be no more rafting in 3 years. Good luck!
