Our favorite Oregon outdoor apparel company, Columbia, has chosen us to assess their newest outdoor shoe called the Drainmaker. According to Columbia, the shoe is waterproof, breathable, resists rain and stains, lightweight (we can vouch for this attribute since we've already tried the shoes on), has advanced traction, and stays warm in cold conditions.
We're headed out on a Rogue River all-women's rafting and kayaking trip June 26 - 28 and we'll be taking the Drainmaker along for the ride. Watch this space for our evaluation of the shoe and a first-hand chronicle of its performance in tough river conditions. This author is a river rat, fisherperson, and whitewater kayaker so she will be able to give you an honest assessment of the shoe's performance--in and out of water. I've never heard of that pair of shoes before but it looks really good. What makes it unique is that it is drainmaker shoes.
