AdventureWoman.com

This blog is all about discovering southern Oregon's special people, places, foods, and experiences. And did we ever find a notable person to blog about today! Her name is Beth Walz and she is the creator/dynamic organizer of a website called www.adventurewoman.com The purpose of the website is to promote full, independent, and fascinating lives for females through world-wide travel and the exploration of international events and exciting adventure activities. Well that was a mouth-full but the idea is quite simple. Use the power of the web to show girls and women that travel is fun, empowering, and life enhancing.

The incredible Beth Walz is a world-wide traveler herself. Before she turned 30, she had already touched down on all seven continents. "Adventure and travel are in my blood," says Walz.

Beth now lives in Roseburg, Oregon, and decided last year to pursue the idea of a website that would acknowledge, value and celebrate women of all ages and backgrounds. Her layout is especially inspiring to younger women--by showing them examples of strong women who have pursued and lived out their dreams. Labeling one section, "She's Not your Average Jane Doe," Beth cites interesting examples of powerful women trailblazers such as the famous pilot Amelia Earhart and the modern-day North Pole explorer Ann Bancroth.

Beth welcomes women to share their adventures on her website. In fact, she is featuring White Water Warehouse's Joy Henkle and her white water kayaking experiences soon on the Adventure Woman site! Questions for Beth? She can be reached by emailing: basecamp@adventurewoman.com or just check out her website...www.adventurewoman.com You'll have fun "exploring" its many thought-inspiring pages...who knows, maybe YOU could be the next woman adventurer featured on the website!

2010 Gourmet Wine, Food & Rafting Trip Set

Magnifico! White Water Warehouse announces its fifth gourmet wine & food Rogue River rafting trip with outstanding Italian chef, Matt Morse. Matt is a master at producing authentic Italian cuisine. He should be, he learned great techniques by sitting at the apron strings of his mother and grandmother--who were both Italian cooking masters!

Matt always surprises us with his wonderful meals and even better, the beautiful wines that he pairs with each course. Wines come from his personal wine cellar...and include wines such as the
'05 Brezzo Dolcetta San Lorenzo or the sumptuous 2001 Produttoridel Barbaresco Reserva "Pora". Matt never scrimps on the quality of wine because it matches the ottimo food he prepares.

The trip is scheduled for June 26 - 28, 2010. It is a 3-day, 2-night lodge-to-lodge adventure. You'll raft the beautiful Rogue River during the day and enjoy multi-course Italian meals each evening. The rustic lodges offer our guests private cabins with attached bathrooms. Cost is $1040 per guest (double occupancy). This is an adults-only trip. For more information, go to WWW's website, gourmet wine & food & rafting page. Or call the friendly folks at WWW: 1-800-214-0579 to schedule your seat at the table. Don't delay, there is very limited space!

Family Rafting Vacation Described as "..the best experience ever..."

At White Water Warehouse, we love to let our clients tell the stories of their river and hiking experiences with us. Here is a snippet from Robin Chang's email to us. Robin rafted the Rogue River in mid-August with 9 of her family members.

"I can't say enough about our guides. They were pleasant, relaxed, and well-informed about all kinds of animals, birds, points of interest and local fauna. Brian (the lead guide) even seems to know which trees the bald eagles would be hanging out in. Although safety was the number one priority, the guides seemed to have almost as much fun as we did. When the trip was over, we didn't want to leave them behind.

"We loved the fact that there were pupus (snacks) before lunch and dinner every day and the food was always good and plentiful.

"This trip was one of the best experiences we have ever had as a family (I loved that cell phones didn't work) and I hope we will have the opportunity to repeat it some day. Since we have been home, I have raved about the trip and have given your name to a number of people."

Sincerely, Robin Chang

Thanks so much, Robin! Your words make our hearts sing and making these memories for you and your extended family is EXACTLY why we are in this business!
