Cool'in the Dogs...

This shot was taken in mid-June at a Whitewater Warehouse lunch break spot called "Tyee" on the Rogue River. These two wonder women had just finished hiking all morning and were taking a much deserved break by dipping their feet (we call 'em dogs) in the refreshingly cool, clean water of the wild & scenic Rogue.

Next up on these two beautiful women's schedules? To chow down on a delicious, organicly-Oregon riverside luncheon prepared by the stellar WWW guides!

A River Runs Through Them...

Rogue River, photo taken June 2008:

People often call our offices and ask what the Rogue River is really like. We think this photo captures it all....the magnificence of the water, the incredible beauty of the lush forest lands that surround much of the river's canyon walls, and the super fun rapids that our guests encounter around every twist and turn.

Many souls change when they experience this river for the first time, or for the one hundred and first time...the Rogue River runs through them...forever changing their outlooks on life.

Not much space remaining in our 2008 season. Check out Whitewater Warehouse's updated schedule....on the Rogue River dates and rates page.

Oregon Gourmet Rafting

We have just 4 spots remaining on our Rogue River gourmet wine and food trip--as of today 6/18/08! Don't wait to sign up for this incredible trip. Culinary genius, Matt Morse, will share his mouth-watering talents and his incredible wine cellar with the lucky folks who join us on this very special rafting trip down the wild and scenic Rogue River.

This is an all-adults rafting trip and our guests stay in quaint cabins with private bathrooms each evening. Organic lunches are served riverside while eagles, otters, and deer make appearances. The trip starts on Sunday, July 6 and ends on Tuesday, July 8, 2008.

Book now because Whitewater Warehouse (our little company) is scheduled to be featured in a national cooking magazine next month! We can't divulged the name of the magazine until it hits news stands but suffice it to say, it is one of the biggees and we are pumped about it!!!

Creek'in

Isn't this a beautiful little side creek? This photo was taken just last week on a hike through the Rogue River canyon. Shows how important and breathtaking these "feeder creeks" and side creeks are to the health of the beautiful wild and scenic Rogue River.

With terrific snow pack in Oregon this year, rafters, kayakers, and hikers are really able to take advantage of the beauty of mother nature's own creations. Look at the incredibly lush flora and fauna in the photo...spectacular!

River Wild Women!

Wow! Another feature in a national magazine. This time it is Oxygen magazine. Oxygen is a health and fitness magazine geared towards female readership. The article in July 2008's edition (yes, July, it is on newstands early) features an all-women's rafting trip. The magazine picked our company as the ONLY west coast company featured to run such trips.

Well, we here at Whitewater Warehouse have been organizing all women's rafting trips for over a decade--this year we are hosting two all-women's rafting trips! And, we are proud of the time and dedication we put into these trips. The women are always fun and we seem to come away with great laughs and stories each time.

Check out Whitewater Warehouse's women's rafting page...and then call the office to book your special, exclusive adventure with the WWW team!

Happy Hiker

Jackie from California just arrived back home after experiencing our first-class Rogue River hiking/lodge trip starting on June 1 of this year. Here's what our new friend had to say about the Rogue River hiking adventure....

Hi Joy,
We just got back from Oregon this afternoon and I wanted to tell you
what a great trip it was! Honestly, I don't think I've had a better
time in ages! All the friends from down here loved it and Sue, her sister-in-law Nadine and I have decided that your husband Bob is the best guide ever!! He's got such a great gentle way of dealing with people and we thought he was wonderful.

Thanks so much for encouraging me to hang in there. Even with just
getting over the illness it was very manageable. We questioned the
term "moderate" at first and finally admitted to Bob we had just over
exerted the first day and once we got adjusted it was a perfect
combination of small challenges with lots of easy. Of course, for me,
riding on the raft for six miles the second day helped!!

Thanks again and if this bunch down here gets organized . . . we'll
have a meeting to discuss maybe doing it again next year. I'll be in
touch if and when that happens.

Thanks again,
Jackie

Take a Hike...

Backpacker's June 2008 magazine features an Oregon company on its pages...and we are honored to say it is us...Whitewater Warehouse! The article outlines a cool hiking idea. Suggests that a hiker could start at the bottom of the Rogue River hiking trail, hike the trail, and then raft back down the entire wild and scenic section of the Rogue River to the take-out. Lists Whitewater Warehouse as one of the recommended outfitters to host such a trip!

We feel honored but even more flattered by our fabulous hiking guests this year. We have just completed our third hiking trip on the Rogue River trail and everyone has been calling the office to give our trail guides and raft support guides rave reviews!!!

Kid Around

Racking your brain for the perfect family summer vacation? Think rafting! Oregon offers all levels of rafting from 1/2 day trips to multi-day trips. Each of these whitewater trips are unique and each explores a different facet of Oregon's outdoor beauty.

At Whitewater Warehouse, we offer kid friendly vacations....the kind where mom and dad can relax for a few days and kids can be, well, kids. Playing, jumping, swimming, kayaking, exploring...kids get to kid around all day long.

So take a peek at our whitewater rafting 2008 schedule. It doesn't get any "funner" than a Rogue River rafting trip!

And, take note, if a multi-day rafting trip doesn't fit your schedule, call us anyway at 1-800-214-0579. We are happy to suggest other quality outfitters who can give your family a fun-filled day or half-day rafting adventure.

State With Most Wild & Scenic River Miles

Alaska, no big surprise, is ranked number one in the nation for most Wild & Scenic river miles (3,210 total miles). Oregon, however, is ranked number TWO with 1,777 Wild & Scenic River miles--even more than our southern neighbor, California (source: Backpacker magazine June, 2008).

We always say here at Whitewater Warehouse that Oregon's most famous wild & scenic river, the Rogue River, is easy to travel to but hard to forget. And this statistic just reinforces that thought...with all those incredible river miles, our guests find it an easy flight/drive to reach but leave with lasting impressions of a beautiful, wildlife-filled outdoor adventure. And, in our case, we even offer the luxury of staying in rustic, riverside lodges each night!
