This photo of a Rogue River wild azalea was shot just a couple days ago while rafting the Rogue River. Since the photo was taken, we've had a heat wave on the river (over the weekend temperatures went over 100 degrees) so these beauties have probably wilted.
Before you leave this life, you really must see and smell the flowers of this unique and beautiful plant. In fact, the Rogue River's most famous rapid--Blossom Bar--was named after the wild azalea's incredible blossoms which bloom along the famous rapid's riverbanks.
